‘Technical issues’ spoil QC's attempt to set world record for biggest Zumba class
It was not the heavy rain but "technical issues" that spoiled a Philippine attempt to break a Guinness world record for having most participants at a Zumba class on Sunday.
Organizers on Sunday afternoon called off the bid due to a problem involving the registration of participants, radio dzBB's Glen Juego reported.
This dismayed many of the participants who braved the heavy rain, since organizers initially said the record bid will push through despite the rain.
Organizers said they hope to try again "soonest."
Sunday's Zumba class was expected to eclipse the current record set for the largest Zumba class, as part of Quezon City's anniversary celebration.
The current record is 6,671 participants at the People's Plaza at Necklace Road in Hyderabad, India on Sept. 15, 2012.
On Sunday afternoon, several participants braved the rain to take part in the record-setting bid, as shown by photos tweeted by dzBB's Juego.
