Man, stabbed 50 times, dumped in the middle of Sta. Mesa street
Closed-circuit television cameras in Manila caught the driver of a public utility jeep carrying and dumping a gravely injured man in the Sta. Mesa area on Friday.
According to a "24 Oras" report on Monday, the victim, who was identified as Romeo Cruz, 20, suffered 50 stab wounds. Cruz was reportedly a PUJ barker in the Divisoria area.
Cruz was still fighting for his life when residents of Barangay 428 in Sta. Mesa found him. He, however, eventually succumbed to his fatal wounds.

"Nakatuwad siya, yung mukha niya halos sumayad sa semento at yung kamay , ang tingin namin parang bali, duguan ang buong mukha," Barangay 428 Sta. Mesa, Manila Brgy. Capt. Teddy Isla said.
Witnesses said the vehicle's route was between Cubao in Quezon City and Divisoria in Manila.
The victim was last seen by his brother at 2 a.m. on Friday.
The CCTV caught the license plate number of the jeep and witnesses gave it to the authorities.

A jeepney driver was apprehended on Saturday but was later released after he told police that its usual driver, known only as Totel, had asked him to drive the vehicle.
Totel is now the subject of police's manhunt operations.
The police has yet to identify the motive behinid the crime and but was sure of one thing.
