Enzo Pastor mom: Dalia asked me not to report killing to cops

Enzo Pastor's wife had allegedly tried stopping her mother-in-law from reporting the international racing champion's killing to the police.

 

Interviewed after the resumption of the preliminary investigation on the slay, Pastor's mother Remy revealed that Dalia's supposed actions following the killing of Enzo bolstered her suspicion that the widow had something to do with the slay.

 

"Unang-una pa lang na araw na namatay [ang] anak ko, sabi (ni Dalia), 'No mom, don’t go, don’t go to the police. It’s just a random shooting, please.' So halata mo na," Remy told reporters on Friday.

Enzo was gunned down on June 12 in Quezon City. At the time of the incident, Enzo was on his way to Clark in Pampanga from Batangas. 

 

Remy added thay the rest of Dalia's relatives "denied na may chance naman hanapin pumatay," saying they refused to cooperate with them. "Alam mo na sila-sila nakakaalam talaga ng nangyari," Enzo's mother said.

 

Remy said Dalia had been given by the Department of Justice ample time to answer the parricide charges against her but the latter has yet to surface. Only Dalia's father had appeared once before the DOJ to insist on the innocence of his daughter.

 

"She (Dalia) lost the chance. And that means takot siya. Lagi na lang nya pinapaharap (tatay niya), umiiyak pa, on her behalf para kaawaan siya," Remy said.

 

Remy and husband Tomas Pastor both said Dalia's continued failure to show up in the preliminary investigation indicated guilt.

 

"Tumatakbo pa rin siya so baka talagang tumakbo na nga," said Remy, while Tomas said he believed Dalia was really "trying to escape."

 

"Will we let this fly?... Sa Pilipinas, we lost a motor sports hero. papabayaan ba natin ito? Sobra na ho," she added.

 

Meanwhile, the Pastor camp remained confident that their case against alleged mastermind Domingo "Sandy" De Guzman remained strong, despite the latter's submission on Friday of a counter-affidavit denying the accusation.

 

The Pastors said De Guzman failed to answer in his counter-affidavit crucial questions like whether he indeed knows alleged gunman PO2 Edgar Angel and whether he (Sandy) was having an illicit affair with Dalia.

 

De Guzman's camp, through his lawyer Dennis Manalo, also showed during the preliminary investigation closed circuit television footage showing an entrapment operation against him last August.

 

The Pastor camp, meanwhile, claimed the part where De Guzman handed over the supposed P50,000 "bonus" to Angel was not captured in the CCTV footage.

 

The camp of Dalia has yet to submit a counter-affidavit to the parricide charge against her.  — RSJ, GMA News
