Cops gun down alleged hostage-taker in Manila eatery


Police shot dead an alleged hostage-taker in an eatery at the corner of Pedro Gil and Taft Avenue, in Manila Tuesday night.

According to a radio dzBB report, the hostage-taker walked into the the eatery at about 10 p.m. looking "depressed."



The suspect then suddenly took a female eatery employee hostage at knife-point.

The local police responded to the incident, and they unfortunately had to shoot the suspect when he began hacking at his hostage.

The hostage had a knife wound to the arm, but was in stable condition at the Philippine General Hospital. — Joel Locsin/DVM, GMA News
