Bomb threat prompts evacuation at Rizal High School

(Updated 11:28 a.m.) A bomb threat prompted the evacuation of students at Rizal High School in Pasig City Tuesday morning.

Police said an evacuation was in progress as of 10 a.m., radio dzBB's Allan Gatus reported.

The report said many students felt scared as they were asked to evacuate.

Bomb technicians found what appeared to be a cell phone and dynamite near a restroom.

However, an analysis by technicians indicated the "dynamite" appeared to be crepe paper and was not likely to pose a threat.

"Panakot lang," said a technician from the Pasig City police's Explosives and Ordnance Division interviewed by dzBB's Gatus.

The technician added whoever rigged the "bomb" may have taken ideas from YouTube. —Joel Locsin/KG, GMA News
