Abandoned box disrupts Thursday classes at FEU
Classes at the Far Eastern University in Manila were disrupted Thursday afternoon due to a bomb scare.
In a statement on its website Friday, FEU said the scare stemmed from a box abandoned at a restroom on campus.
"Yesterday November 27, 2014, at approximately 3:50 p.m., an abandoned box suspected to be a bomb was discovered in the male comfort room of the 5th floor of the Nursing Building," it said.
The FEU security team suspended classes from 4:30 to 6 p.m. on the fifth floor, and the entire building was evacuated.
The Manila Police District bomb squad was called to assist in the safe disposal of the box.
It turned out the box was not a bomb, and classes resumed as soon as the FEU administration declared the campus safe. — Joel Locsin/JDS, GMA News
