Sto. Domingo Church says Latin Mass for Pope’s safety

Filipino Catholics on Sunday afternoon attended a Latin Mass at a church in Quezon City for the safety of Pope Francis during his Philippine visit.

The Mass was held at the Sto. Domingo Church, radio dzBB's James Agustin reported.

The Latin Mass was aside from the prayer said at the end of regular Masses for the safety of the Pope, who will visit the Philippines on Jan. 15 to 19.

Since late last year, Catholic Churches have recited prayers at the end of Masses for the papal visit, on orders from Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines president and Lingayen Dagupan Archbishop Socrates Villegas.

Villegas said the National Prayer for the Papal Visit is to be prayed before the post-Communion prayer at Mass from Aug. 1, 2014 to Jan. 14, 2015.
