MMDA: Number coding lifted April 6

The number coding scheme is lifted for Easter Monday to benefit Filipinos returning from the Holy Week break, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority said.

MMDA Chairman Francis Tolentino told dzBB radio they expect many Filipinos to return from the provinces on Monday.

But the MMDA said the lifting of the number coding does not apply to Las Piñas and Makati Cities.

Under the number coding scheme, vehicles are barred from major roads from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Covered on Mondays are vehicles with plate numbers ending in 1 and 2; 3 and 4 on Tuesdays; 5 and 6 on Wednesdays; 7 and 8 on Thursdays; and 9 and 0 on Fridays. —Joel Locsin/KG, GMA News
