Photos of naked child go viral on social media

 

 

Photographs of a naked child on a leash—apparently distributed by the child's mother—went viral on social media hours after they went public on Monday afternoon.

 

GMA's "Unang Balita" on Tuesday reported that the post by the mother incited the anger of netizens who saw the post as cruel and dehumanizing.

 

In the three photographs, a naked child is seen crawling on a cement floor with a white rope tied closely around its neck as it hovered above a dish of of food.

 

The woman who posted the pictures, who referred to the child as hers, joked that she has a new pet dog in the captions of the three photographs.

 

"Lakas ng tama ng anak ko sunod sunuran namn.... #dami kong tawa d2 grabe...," said the woman.

 

The post garnered 65,000 shares as of Unang Balita's report.

 

Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit said it will assist the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in investigating the case.

 

PNP CIDG public information officer Major Beth Jasmin explained that they were merely waiting for the DSWD to file a case to begin working out what charges may be filed against the perpetrator. — Rie Takumi/TJD, GMA News
