WATCH: Alleged shooter caught on CCTV during Caloocan settlement demolition

The suspect who allegedly shot a police officer during the demolition of Caloocan City's Calaanan informal settlement could be seen on security camera footage wielding what looks to be an improvised gun, GMA 7's “24 Oras” reported Wednesday.

In the footage, the suspect wearing a traditional reed hat could also be seen providing irate residents with bottles, which they then threw at police officers.

The suspect was then seen pulling out a supposed improvised or homemade gun, which he seemingly aims and fires. Police investigators believe that it was at this point that P01 VIrgilio Cabasing was shot in the left thigh.

A second suspect in a red tank top who was standing beside the first suspect, was also believed armed with an improvised gun.

Caloocan City Police Chief Bartolome Bustamante said that the footage would be helpful in identifying and prosecuting the shooter.
