1 killed, more than P1M in property destroyed in predawn San Juan fire


A man was killed while more than P1.2 million in property was destroyed in a fire that hit a house in Barangay Addition Hills in San Juan City before dawn Saturday.

The victim, initially identified as Bantog and described as in his 60s, was trapped on the second floor of the rented house at Ortega Street, radio dzBB's Manny Vargas reported.

An initial investigation showed the fire started before 4 a.m. and reached the second alarm before it was put out at 5:22 a.m.

Arson investigators estimated the damage to property at between P1.2 and 2 million.
