Calls for justice remain as slain bank teller Tania Dee laid to rest
Calls for justice marked the interment of Tania Camille Dee, the bank teller who was found dead in a backyard in Angeles City, Pampanga as the suspect remains at large.
Family members and supporters — mostly wearing shirts marked with "Justice for Tania" — packed Sta. Monica Parish in Tondo, Manila during the funeral mass held before the interment on Sunday, according to a report on GMA News' News to Go on Monday.
The police has considered Dee's former husband Fidel Sheldon Arcenas a suspect in the killing. A CCTV footage from a Japanese restaurant, where Dee met with Arcenas, showed the last instance the victim was seen alive.
The remains of Dee were then found in the backyard of a house that belonged to the mother of Arcenas' current live-in partner Angela Dychioco six days after the victim went missing on June 20.
In an affidavit submitted to authorities, Dychioco claimed that Arcenas shot Dee and buried her body at the backyard of the house. Dychioco has denied her involvement in the bank teller's death.
The Dee family has called on the parents of Arcenas to cooperate in the investigation. The suspect is the son of the assistant chief operating officer of the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority.
"Kung talagang hindi alam ng pamilya Arcenas ang kinaroroonan ni Sheldon, dapat ay makipag-usap man lang sila," said Rosalinda Dee, the victim's mother.
The Dee family also urged Dychioco to help bring Arcenas to justice.
