Logo stickers used to cover license plates unauthorized, Supreme Court says
The Supreme Court has has disavowed stickers that some motorists have used to obscure the numbers on their licenses plates.
According to a report on GMA's "24 Oras Weekend" aired on Saturday night, the stickers — originally shown in Top Gear Philippines — have angered some netizens who say they may have been used to circumvent the Unified Vehicular Volume Reduction Program because the last digit of the plate number is obscured.
"The Supreme Court does not issue nor has it authorized the issue of any stickers or logos or emblems of the court or any of the sourts... The sticker on that car is unauthorized and is not from the SC," lawyer Ted Te, chief public information officer of the Supreme Court said.
The Land Transportation Office has yet to issue a statement on the stickers although under its rules, tampering with a license plate carries a fine of P2,000. — JDS, GMA News
