Fire razes Makati City boarding house

A nine-room two-storey boarding house at the corner of Casino Street and Filmore Street in Bgy. Palanan, Makati City burned down Sunday night, Super Radyo dzBB's James Agustin reported.

The fire lasted around 30 minutes and reached the third alarm before being put out at 10:27 p.m.

Palanan fire sub-station commander Inspector Joshcar Bungalon said that the fire started at the boarding house's ceiling, and they thus suspected that the fire stemmed from a problem with the electrical wiring.

Some 16 residents were affected by the fire, but fortunately there were no injuries. Property damage was estimated at P100,000. —DVM/KG, GMA News
