NBI arrests man for blackmailing ex-girlfriend with their sex video

The National Bureau of Investigation arrested a man who allegedly blackmailed his ex-girlfriend with their sex video.

A report from GMA's “24 Oras” on Tuesday identified the suspect as 36-year-old Mark Glen Sanchez, who demanded sex from his former beau in exchange for him not posting their intimate video online.

He was apprehended in a motel in Pasay City by NBI cybercrime operatives.

The victim said she agreed to the suspect's terms initially out of fear even when she was already married with a child.

But the suspect's demands did not stop, as he sent snippets of their sex video to her relatives, friends and workmates.

The suspect then allegedly told the victim that he will send their whole video if she did not give in to his demands.

NBI Cybercrime Division Executive Officer Atty. Vic Lorenzo said that the suspect may face rape and other charges.

“Sa statement kasi ng biktima may sinasabing pinilit siya at puwedeng mag fall yun sa rape, Violence Against Women Act at the same time 'yung Anti-Voyeurism Act. Yun ang mga possible charges na isasampa namin sa taong nahuli,” he said. —Andrei Medina/JST, GMA News
