AWOL cop facing robbery, kidnapping raps arrested in Tondo

A policeman facing several charges, including robbery and kidnapping, was arrested in Tondo, Manila on Tuesday night.

A report on GMA News' Unang Balita identified the arrested policeman as Police Officer 2 Manuel Fuentes.

Chief Superintendent Rolando Nana, Manila Police District (MPD) director, said Fuentes is currently on an AWOL (absent without leave) status as he has not reported to his mother unit, the Headquarters Support Service in Camp Crame, since September 21.

Fuentes, who has been in the police service for six years, was arrested by his fellow policemen at the barangay hall of Barangay 232, Zone 21 in Tondo, where he was supposed to meet and convince Oscar Milencio to drop his complaint.

Milencio filed a complaint against Fuentes for pointing a gun at him last Friday.

The report said Fuentes was ordering Milencio to buy shabu for him.

Nana said that aside from gun-toting, Fuentes is also facing robbery and kidnapping charges.

He said Fuentes and another policeman was charged with kidnapping for abducting a tricycle driver in Cubao, Quezon City.

Nana said Fuentes and the other policeman were also forcing the tricycle driver to buy shabu for them.

The arresting policemen seized Fuentes' service firearm and his police ID. —ALG, GMA News
