Holdupper shot dead in QC

(Updated 9:17 a.m.) A holdupper was shot to death on Nenita Street, Brgy. Gulod, Quezon City Tuesday night, a report on Unang Balita on Wednesday said.

Charlie Lester Dimapilis a.k.a. Lester Monio died on the spot while his companion identified only as Carlo was injured, Jay Sabale reported.

According to Dimapilis' relatives, it is possible the shooting was connected to the holdup cases involving the victim.

Dimapilis was released from jail a year ago after serving time for the said cases.

Meanwhile, authorities have yet to identify the two men who shot Dimapilis to death around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday and afterward sped away on separate motorcycles.

Police recovered at least 10 empty 9-mm and caliber .45 shells from the crime scene.

Authorities are investigating the motive for the crime. —KG, GMA News
