Welcome arch for APEC delegates collapses

A steel arch installed at the Cultural Center of the Philippines complex to welcome delegates of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit collapsed on Monday morning.

 

The steel arch collapsed for still an unknown reason at around 11 a.m.

 

GMA News Online's stringer, Danny Pata, was able to take photos while personnel of the Department of Public Works and Highways and the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority try to fix the collapsed arch. 

 

Malacañang has said that it is expecting at least 10,000 delegates from the 21 member economies of the APEC will arrive in the Philippines for the summit.

 

The summit will be held from November 18 to 19 at the Philippine International Convention Center. —ALG, GMA News
