Passengers start flocking to Araneta Center bus station for holiday break
Passengers hoping to catch bus trips to the provinces on Tuesday have started flocking to the Araneta Center bus station in Cubao since Monday night, a report on Unang Balita said.
Tickets going to Visayas—Northern Samar, Tacloban, Roxas, Capiz, Masbate, among other areas—have been scarce, but some people are still hoping they can get on the buses as chance passengers, GMA News' Isay Reyes reported.
The queue for tickets for Iloilo was already long even if the booth was still closed before dawn Tuesday.
One passenger said he wanted to buy tickets since last week but was advised that reservations were no longer accepted. He was told to just go to the bus station very early for a chance to get on an extra bus.
Another passenger said he could not buy tickets earlier since he only received his 13th month pay recently.
Others could not take a leave from work ealier so it is only now they are able to buy tickets.
Queues for trips to Bicol were also long. Tickets for air-conditioned buses were already sold out, but those for ordinary buses were still available.
More people are expected to flock to the passenger terminal as the holidays draw near. —KG, GMA News
