Nigerian suspected of carnapping nabbed in Manila

A Nigerian national was arrested on Monday for alleged carnapping in Manila, a report on Unang Balita said.

Basharo Galadima was nabbed by Manila police after he was cornered at the Baywalk along Roxas Boulevard.

According to his carnap victim, Galadima met him on December 15 after the latter contacted him about a car the victim was selling on the Internet.

They went on a test drive then proceeded to a restaurant to order food. After they sat down, Galadima, holding on to the key, stood up and said he was going out to smoke.

Galadima however went straight to the car and drove away. The victim ran after him but was not able to catch up.

Manila cops spotted the hot car on Monday on the Roxas Boulevard Service Road and went after it.

Upon seeing the cops, Galadima got down from the car and ran toward the seawall on the Baywalk. He had nowhere to go though and surrendered to the police.

The car was recovered and turned over to the Manila Police District Anti-Carnapping Investigation Section.

Galadima will be charged with violating the Anti-Carnapping Act.

He refused to comment, saying he will talk in court instead. —KG, GMA News
