Biz owners in QC scramble to get docs to meet business permits deadline
Business owners in Quezon City are scrambling to get their requirements at the Quezon City Hall Tuesday in order to meet the deadline for business permits on Wednesday.
For some, this means lining up for 12 hours, GMA's Maki Pulido reported on News To Go on Tuesday.
One person lined up from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to get a health permit, which is one of the requirements for the business permit.
Meanwhile, another one named Christina Cuenca said her requirements will not be finished Tuesday so she will have to be absent from work on Wednesday to meet the deadline.
Others had to endure long lines to get the order of payment for the mayor's permit. Once the order of payment is issued, the applicant must pay the amount at another counter then line up again to get the mayor's permit.
However, before one can get a mayor's permit, the applicant must secure a police or NBI clearance, and a health permit. The lines for these are already long, the report said.
Some of those in the queue for the P140-occupational mayor's permit had been patiently waiting since before dawn.
The queue for payment of business permits was not yet crowded as of 9 a.m. Tuesday.
However, the bulk of the applicants is expected to arrive in the afternoon once they secure all their requirements. —KG, GMA News
