Two boys found dead inside a parked car in Antipolo

Two children were found dead inside a parked car in a subdivision in Antipolo hours after they left their homes to play, John Consulta reported on GMA's "24 Oras" on Tuesday.

Antipolo Police Chief Supt. Lucilo Laguna Jr. Renz Gajo and Aljo Malaco, both four years old, suffocated after they were trapped in the car.

"Naka-lock daw po yung kotse na 'yan. Nakapasok sila sa kotse. Namatay nga po yung bata dahil hindi nakahinga po dun sa kotse," Laguna added.

The two boys, who are from Barangay Sta. Cruz, went to Cavaliers Subdivision in Antipolo to play. The father of Renz, Romeo Gajo, was worried when he could not find his son.

Both boys were found dead inside the car, Renz was on the driver's seat while his playmate Aljo occupied the passenger seat. Officials say they may have been trapped for a few hours inside the car, which was parked under the sun.

It was the owner of the car who found them by mid-afternoon on Tuesday.

The elder Gajo was beside himself with grief when he learned of his son's death.

"Bata pa anak ko. Di bale ako, matanda na 'ko eh. Apat na taong gulang pa lang 'to," Gajo said.

"Kutob ko lang na parang sinadya. Hindi yung sinasabi nilang naaksidente," he added.

The car owner, who asked not to be named, condoled with the families.

"Wala namang may kagustuhan sa nangyari. Wala ring makaka-control dun sa nangyari. Nakikiramay na lang ako sa mga magulang," he told GMA News.

The parents of the boys requested for the conduct of an autopsy, to confirm that the bruises found on their bodies were not due to foul play. — Rie Takumi, BAP, GMA News
