Murder charges filed vs Edgel Joy's fiancé, three others

The mother of Edgel Joy Durolfo has filed murder charges against her daughter's fiancé and their three companions the night the Solaire Resorts manager died.

Evangel Durolfo, with the help of a lawyer, filed a murder complaint with the Parañaque City Police Office against her daughter's fiancé, Rodney Ynchausti, and friends Molo Hwang, Josiebell Lim Uy, and Paulo Egoc.

Hwang and Lim Uy, both Solaire employees, attended Durolfo's wake sometime between Sunday and Monday while Ynchausti arrived on Tuesday.

Ynchausti was turned away by Durolfo's family after he bid his fiancee goodbye.

Though she was unable to recall the exact date of the filing of the criminal complaint, Evangel Durolfo said they hope the complaint would speed up the investigation.

Edgel Joy began dating Ynchausti on November 2015. He proposed marriage a month later.

Though her death certificate stated that she died from asphyxiation by strangulation, Evangel believes foul play was involved in her daughter's death.

In photographs provided by a certain James, the victim's boss from a previous employer, her skin appeared black and yellow from bruises yet to be explained.

Parañaque police said an autopsy on the victim's body will be done on Thursday.

Evangel called on relatives and friends during her daughter's funeral mass at Arlington Chapels to help her seek justice for her daughter.

According to Evangel, her daughter's son from a previous relationship has not spoken much since his mother's death, but said that whoever hurt his mother was "bad".

In a text to GMA News Online on Thursday,  Parañaque City chief of police, Senior Supt.  Ariel Andrada said they are set to question witnesses including the victim's friends as well as employees of the high-end casino.

"Both kung sino yung pwede at willing mag-bigay ng statement," Andrada said. — APG, GMA News
