8 nabbed in anti-crime operations in Tondo

Police arrested eight people in an anti-crime operation at a temporary housing community in Tondo, Manila, Friday night.

Superintendent Redentor Ulsano, commander of Manila Police District Station 1, identified the suspects as Jennifer Estrada, Leonardo Cruz, Renato Pangan, Jan James Buanhug, Ronaldo Domodon, Majem Villamor, Dexter Asencio and Alberto Gamba.

Ulsano said the suspects were arrested in operations conducted at the temporary housing community in Road 10 corner Capulong Street in Barangay 105 at around 7 p.m.

Operatives seized six sachets of shabu from Estrada and Cruz; knives from Buanhug and Domodon and illegal firearms from Villamor and Asencio.

Ulsano said the operations were conducted in the area because it is prominent in the police's "hit map" of crimes.

Appropriate charges, from violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act and Omnibus Election Code, will be filed against the suspects. —ALG, GMA News
