Fire hits unfinished Mandaluyong condominium


A condominium building that is still under construction was razed by fire in Mandaluyong on Tuesday morning.
 
According to Maki Pulido’s report on GMA News TV's "Balitanghali," authorities say that the fire started on the third story of the building where hazardous materials are stored. The building is located on Mayflower Street corner Reliance Street, Mandaluyong City.
 
 

Fire on going at Avida Towers Centera, near Flair Towers but safely far. They say its now controlled but still fire is present. Hopefully it won't get worse. Pls pray!

Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) District 5 Marshall Reynaldo Lorenzo, the third floor is a fabrication area where acetylene, a highly flammable chemical, is stored.
 
The BFP found out that the building has the necessary permit to go on with the construction. However, authorities will investigate if the building contractor violated any fire safety measures.
 
Some 20 construction workers were initially trapped on the 25th floor, they were able to escape and only one was wounded during the incident.
 
BFP announced a fire out at 12:12 p.m.
