Cabbie in masturbation scandal denies committing lascivious act

The cab driver who was accused of masturbating while driving his passengers to their destination in Quezon City on Wednesday has denied committing the lascivious act before the Land Transportation and Franchising Regulatory Board.

According to Chino Gaston's report on GMA News TV's "QRT, " Raul Lumidilla told LTFRB officials that he had urinary tract infection and too frequently had the urge to relieve himself.

The teenage complainant positively identified Lumidilla as the cab driver who supposedly unzipped his pants and fondled his genitals while bringing the student and her companions from Katipunan Road to Commonwealth Avenue.

Lumidilla received the brunt of the ire of the mother of one of the complainants —a 17-year-old student—while he was giving his statement at the office of LTFRB board member Ariel Inton on Friday.

The driver is facing sexual harassment charges.

"Nagulat lang po ako na nakalabas na ang private part niya ... tapos ginagalaw-galaw niya ... tapos nakatitig po siya sa akin at sinabing ihing-ihi na raw po siya," she said.

She said she was scared also because Lumidilla was driving recklessly.

The group told Lumidilla to drop them off at a gasoline station.

The LTFRB has since asked the Land Transportation Office to cancel the driver's license of Lumidilla.

The LTFRB also directed RLC Ubercabs to explain why it should not be meted sanctions for hiring the driver accused of lascivious acts. —Virgil Lopez/NB, GMA News
