The girl was given the nickname "Courageous Caitie" for how she faced the rare blood cancer juvenile myelomonocytic leukemia or JMML.

Caitie was brought by her parents from one hospital to another in Manila due to inconclusive diagnoses.

The parents decided to bring the girl to Singapore, where she was diagnosed with JMML early March.
