Patients evacuated after fire hits Manila's Fabella Hospital
Some patients at the Dr. Jose Fabella Memorial Hospital in Sta. Cruz, Manila had to be evacuated on Thursday evening when fire hit the facility's elevator, reported Luisito Santos for Super Radyo dzBB.

Bureau of Fire Protection Manila Fire Insp. Beverly Grimaldo said the fire started at the elevator in the second floor of the hospital about 11:23 p.m.
The patients and their companions were evacuated immediately because of the thick smoke coming from the elevator.
At least 66 infants from the Newborn Intensive Care Unit together with their mothers were escorted out of the hospital.
The BFP declared a fire out around 11:52 p.m. then after an hour passed, the patients were advised to return to the hospital.
No one was reported injured durng the incident.
According to the report of GMA's Athena Imperial for “Unang Balita,” the fire incident was brief and damage was minimal because of the quick action of the hospital's maintenance team.
Grimaldo said the hospital officials, as a security measure, should check electrical equipment and appliances.
