Missing dragon boat rower found dead near Manila Yacht Club

The dragon boat team member who went missing after a training accident in Manila Bay on Saturday has been found dead.

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) reported that the body of Jerome Tipon was found floating near the Manila Yacht Club at around 1:20 a.m. Sunday.

The report said security personnel of the yacht club found the body and notified the Manila Police District's homicide section.

The body of Tipon, member of the Alag Sagwan dragon boat team, has been turned over to his parents.

Tipon went missing after his team's boat sank during training in the Manila Bay on Saturday.

The accident happened near the yacht club.

Search and rescue operations were immediately launched after the accident was reported to the authorities. —ALG, GMA News
