Toby Tiangco returning to House with third consecutive term
Reelectionist Rep. Toby Tiangco, interim president of the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) political party, was proclaimed winner of the Navotas congressional race on Tuesday, radio station dzBB has reported.
Tiangco, who defeated Dong Luna by an overwhelming number of votes, will serve his third term as congressman of the Lone District of Navotas. He was first elected to the post in 2010.
He previously served as mayor of Navotas from 2000 to 2010 and vice mayor from 1999 to 2000.
Tiangco's brother John Rey Tiangco was unopposed in his mayoral candidacy under UNA's local political party NVTEÑO.
John Rey was also proclaimed winner on Tuesday along with NVTEÑO's unopposed, reelectionist vice mayoral bet Clint Geronimo. —Veronica Pulumbarit/NB, GMA News
