Man killed after getting run over by train in Tondo
A man was killed after being run over by a Philippine National Railways (PNR) train on Saturday in Tondo, Manila.
The victim was identified as Alejandro Marquez, an employee of the Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau Impounding Division.
According to his co-worker Rodel Dolorico, they were collecting spare parts from a broken television set beside the railway when the accident occurred.
Marquez's body was cut in half as the train run him over.
The area is reportedly prone to train accidents involving residents, said Ricardo Cortez, chairman of Barangay 228 Zone 21.
"'Yung mga bata kasi pag dumadaan 'yung tren binabato nila, inaasar 'yung makinista," he said.
Marquez' family called for assistance from the PNR, but the company has yet to issue a statement on the matter. — APG, GMA News
