‘Chop-chop’ victim found outside Senate compound

A person's body parts stuffed in a sack were found near the gate of the Senate's compound in Pasay City on Wednesday morning.

Vendor Maro Samaro said he was cleaning outside the Senate gate around 5 a.m. when he found a sack which he thought was just containing garbage.

When he opened it, Samaro discovered chopped off arms and legs.

Police said the victim was killed just hours before it was discovered because the body parts were still fresh and did not emit foul odor.

To help establish the victim's identity, police took fingerprints from the chopped off arms that will be submitted to the Philippine National Police headquarters in Camp Crame, Quezon City to determine if these are stored in the Automated Fingerprint Identification System.

Chief Inspector Rolando Baula, head of the Pasay City Police Station's Criminal Investigation Division, also asked those who are looking for missing relatives to coordinate with them.

Police tracker teams have also been dispatched to find the missing body parts of the victim. —report from Mark Salazar/Virgil Lopez/ALG, GMA News
