Ateneo high school teacher shot dead in Marikina

An Ateneo de Manila High School teacher was shot and killed Monday night on Dela Costa Street in Marikina City's Barangay Barangka, Super Radyo dzBB reported on Tuesday.

The victim was identified as Emmanuel Jose Pavia, who was shot twice in the head at around 7 p.m.

Pavia was rushed to the Amang Rodriguez Memorial Medical Center but was declared dead on arrival.

Local police are now investigating the incident.

Pavia was a math teacher at Ateneo de Manila junior high school, a report on Unang Balita on Tuesday said.

His students have flooded social media with messages of grief and condolences, and they called for justice for Pavia, the TV report said. —DVM/KG, GMA News
