4 hurt in 8-vehicle smashup in Makati

Four people were hurt in an eight-vehicle smashup in Barangay Pinagkaisahan, Makati City on Wednesday morning.

In a post by YouScoop, the incident happened at the corner of Jervois Street and Kalayaan Avenue.

Goddess Hope Libiran, spokesperson of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, told News To Go that four of the vehicles have been cleared from area.

Libiran said MMDA personnel and the Makati City Rescue were still trying to remove the four other vehicles as of this posting.

She said the incident was reported to the MMDA at around 7:15 a.m.

Libiran said they have yet to identify the injured victim.

Traffic was heavy in the area, she added.

The eight vehicles involved in the accident include two passenger jeepneys, two passenger vans, three sedans and a pick-up.

Investigators were still determining how the smashup started. —ALG, GMA News
