Police officer killed as Parañaque cops intervene in armed robbery

A police officer was killed early Sunday when lawmen confronted two armed robbers in Parañaque City, Super Radyo dzBB's James Agustin reported.

According to Parañaque police Deputy Chief for Investigation Sr. Inspector Allan Abaquita, a police patrol came across the armed robbers as they were victimizing a convenience store on Pascor Drive.

 

The police officers intervened and the suspects attempted to shoot their way out of the store. The policemen returned fire and a suspect was killed while the other robber was able to flee.

 

A police officer was also wounded in the gunfight and was taken to hospital, but doctors were unable to save him.

 

A .38 caliber revolver and two sachets of shabu were recovered from the suspect's body. Investigators also took possession of the motorcycle the suspects used. — DVM, GMA News
