Victim of summary execution try eventually died in Las Piñas hospital
A man believed to be a victim of summary execution attempt eventually died at a hospital in Las Piñas City on Wednesday.
In an exclusive report on Unang Balita, GMA News' Mav Gonzales said victim Rogelio Culaniban Jr, 30, was already pronounced dead when members of his family arrived at the Las Piñas General Hospital (LPGH).
He was rushed to the hospital when found still alive after he and his woman companion were left with gunshot wounds at a Don Bosco area.
The woman was already dead when the two were found, the report said.
Authorities believe they were victims of a summary execution attempt and the assailants left them for dead.
Upon learning from a television report that Rogelio was in a hospital, members of his family rushed to the LPGH, but they arrived too late to see him alive.
A member of the family told Gonzales that they only learned Rogelio was shot and rushed to the LPGH from a television report.
Rogelio passed away about 6 p.m. Wednesday after sustaining two gunshot wounds in the head.
An earlier GMA News report said Rogelio was found bloodied, and a still unidentified woman companion died after they were shot by armed assailants.
An initial police report showed that the woman was found with suspected shabu and supposed drug paraphernalia.
According to the Rogelio's relative, the family did not know the woman, and that the last time he communicated with the family he said he was driving a pedicab.
Asked if Rogelio had been into drugs, his kin said they don't have any idea because he had not been going home for a time. —LBG, GMA News
