Malacañang posted a video of the NAIAx Phase 2-A project opened at 12:01 a.m.
Public Works Secretary Mark Villar led the opening of expressway.
Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade announced in a Senate budget hearing last week that toll fees for the NAIAx Phase 2-A will be free for a month.
“Nakausap ko yung concessionaire. Ewan ko if this is the time to announce, that the public will enjoy one month free no toll fees when we open that,” Tugade said.
The Department of Public Works and Highways said the NAIAx Phase 2 project will provide access to NAIA terminals 1, 2 and 3 as well as an interface with the Skyway and Cavite Express Way.
The whole NAIAx project is expected to be completed by the end of 2016. —ALG/KG, GMA News
