Two firemen injured while putting out fire in Eastwood City, Libis


Two firemen were hurt on Thursday while responding to a fire in a building being constructed in Libis, Quezon City,  a report on Unang Balita said.

The fire which started in the basement of the One Eastwood Tower 1 Building in Eastwood City reached the fourth alarm, GMA News' Vonne Aquino reported.

At least six fire trucks arrived to put out the fire.

Thick smoke coming from the basement was seen by the building's project manager and security guard.

Firemen had to put on breathing apparatus to enter the basement.

 

 

FSupt. Jesus Fernandez, fire marshal of the Bureau of Fire Protection, said there may be gadgets or electrical supplies in the basement which may have ignited the fire.

The two firemen, F01 Carlos Modesto and SF02 Azonsa, had wounds on their hands but are out of danger.

The fire was declared under control at 5:34 a.m.

Damage is estimated to cost P500,000. —KG, GMA News
