Men’s shirts also recovered from car of Hero Bautista’s ex-partner

Aside from drug paraphernalia, large-sized men’s shirts were also found inside the maroon Mercedes Benz of Rio April Choi, the former live-in partner of Quezon City Councilor Hero Bautista.

The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) said knowing the identity of the owner of the shirts may give additional clue on the whereabouts of Choi.

Choi, 33, reportedly went missing on September 12.

On Friday, the QCPD found Choi's abandoned car in a parking area of a fast-food restaurant at the corner of C5 and Green Meadows Drive in Libis district. Drug paraphernalia were initially found by the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) inside the car.

In CCTV footage in the area taken past 8 p.m. on September 12, Choi was seen parking her Mercedes Benz and entering the fast-food restaurant.

Inside the restaurant, Choi was seen in the CCTV footage seemed to be looking for someone before sitting down in a corner. She was also captured in the CCTV talking on her mobile phone for several minutes before she exited the restaurant and walked away.

In a report of GMA News’ “24 Oras,” it said the QCPD was also trying to contact a certain “Babes” who is a supposed close friend of Choi.

The QCPD said “Babes” might provide details on what transpired on September 12.

The QCPD had earlier said that it is investigating the possible involvement of Choi in the illegal drug trade.

Her former partner Bautista, brother of Quezon City mayor Herbert Bautista, had already admitted to using illegal drugs and has taken a leave as Quezon City councilor to undergo drug rehabilitation. —Elizabeth Marcelo/ALG, GMA News
