Sabrina M. tells fellow celebs: Kick drug habit

After her arrest, former sexy star Sabrina M. appealed to fellow celebrities with a history of drug use to give up their illegal habits before they are swept up in the government's anti-drug campaign.

The former actress, Karen Pallasigue in real life, told Marisol Abdurahman on "24 Oras" on Wednesday that she regrets using crystal methamphetamine or shabu, a drug she was seen using on camera.

Both Pallasigue and Krista Miller, who was arrested along with models Liaa Alelin Bolla at Jeramie Padolina in a buy-bust operation on Monday, have denied they were drug dealers.

"Hindi naman ako nagtutulak eh. Kaya pinakamasakit yung ganun,  yung medyo mainit sa showbiz," Pallasigue said.

"'Wag muna magju-judge kasi 'di pa naman tapos yung kwento. Lalabas at lalabas din naman kung ano yung totoo," Miller said in a separate interview.

Pallasigue and Miller have both been charged with violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 since they allegedly handed shabu to police operatives in separate operations.

Bolla, charged with possessing illegal drugs, admitted that she used drugs and used to sell ecstasy to models and party goers.

"Yung iba po mga party people lang. Ngayon pa lang na hindi pa sila nahuhuli, itigil na nila," she said.

Quezon City Police District Chief PSR Supt. Guillermo Eleazar re-stated that police had strong evidence against celebrities involved in the illegal drug trade.

"Records will show, pati yung sa ating operation na talagang nagkaroon ng buy-bust operations. These were results of intelligence and (police) operations natin," Eleazar stated.

Philippine National Police Chief Ronald "Bato" dela Rosa meanwhile said celebrities must be relegated to buy-bust operations instead of being part of Oplan Tukhang because of their "hard-headedness."

The latest celebrity arrested for illegal drugs is Mark Anthony Fernandez, who remains behind bars at the Angeles City Police Station 6 after he was caught with a kilo of marijuana in his car at a checkpoint on Monday. —Rie Takumi/JST, GMA News
