Cops round up 100 people in barangay in Quezon City

At least 100 men and women were rounded up by policemen in Barangay Batasan Hills, Quezon City on Sunday night as part of its anti-criminality campaign.

Majority of those rounded up were caught having drinking sessions on the streets.

Inspector Jacinto Pascual of the Quezon City Police District Station 6 said they have information of illegal drug activities in the barangay.

The operation was conducted at around 10 p.m.

Of the more than 100 people rounded up and brought to the police station, only seven tested positive for drugs.

Jacinto said the seven people who tested positive for drugs will remain detained at the police station pending their confirmatory drug testing. —report from Jay Sabale/ALG, GMA News
