Roxas Blvd. closed, traffic rerouted for Rizal Day
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced on Friday, December 30, the closure of a portion of Roxas Boulevard in Manila to accommodate the celebration in Rizal Park of the 120th death anniversary of national hero Jose Rizal.
In a tweet, MMDA said Roxas Boulevard from Katigbak to T.M. Kalaw northbound and southbound was closed to traffic starting 6:30 a.m. on Friday.

MMDA has yet to announce when the said road will be reopened to vehicles.
In the meantime, motorists are advised to take the following alternate routes:
- All vehicles traversing northbound along Roxas Boulevard, turn right ot T.M. Kalaw, then left to Ma. Orosa to point of destination,
- All vehicles traversing southbound coming from Delpan Bridge-Pier Zone, turn left to P. Burgos, then right to Ma. Orosa to point of destination,
- All vehicles coming from three bridges: McArthur, Jones and Quezon Bridge intending to utilize the southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard from P. Burgos, take Round Table, take Ma. Orosa or use Taft Avenue to point of destination.
Also, the number coding scheme is lifted on Rizal Day in Metro Manila, including Makati City. — TJD, GMA News
