Classes, work at Ateneo-Loyola Heights campus not suspended amid bomb threat
Despite a bomb threat, the Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) did not suspend its classes on Wednesday.
ADMU President Fr. Jose Ramon Villarin said in a statement that its Loyola Heights campus received a bomb threat posted via Twitter around 5:35 a.m.
Villarin said that no bomb was found during an initial security sweep conducted right after the threat was made.
"Classes are not suspended and offices remain open," he added.
An hourly security sweep will be conducted in order to ensure safety and protection, Villarin said.
The following additional security measures will be implemented: Inspection of vehicle and bag in all campus gates, sweeping of K-9 units, police personnel within and outside campus premises, and deployment of Emergency Assistance teams.
