NCRPO chief urges cops in latest 'hulidap' case to surrender

National Capital Region Police Office chief Director Oscar Albayalde urged Tuesday seven at-large police officers allegedly involved in the kidnapping and robbery extortion of a woman in Quezon City to surrender.

“I advice those who are at-large to surrender and face the accusation against them. Otherwise, to the full extent of the law, we will make sure that arrests will be made in the coming days,” Albayalde said in a press statement.

Joint police teams arrested early Monday four members of the Malabon City Police-Drug Enforcement Group involved in the kidnapping and extortion of a certain Norma.

Those arrested were identified as Senior Police Officer 2 Ricky Pelicano, Police Officer 2 Wilson Sanchez, PO1 Joselito Ereneo, and PO1 Frances Camua.

The four policemen have been detained at the headquarters of the Philippine National Police's Counter-Intelligence Task Force in Camp Crame.

Northern Police District director Chief Superintendent Roberto Fajardo said seven more policemen, including members of Civil Security Group (CSG) and Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), are involved in the kidnapping and robbery-extortion case.

Albayalde, meanwhile, urged the public to report any information which could lead to the arrest of the policemen.

“To the public at large, we solicit your help again by reporting to us or giving us any information to the whereabouts of these policemen,” he said.

He assured protection for those who will tell the police of the suspects' whereabouts.

“Rest assured that you have our protection. We shall continue cleansing our ranks directed towards the goal of helping our government rebuild a safer, better nation for us all,” he said. —ALG, GMA News
