Ex-Abra vice governor Somera shot dead in Marikina

A lone gunman killed a former vice governor of Abra and two others in Marikina City, early Saturday.

Police identified the slain former official as Rolando Somera.

Initial investigations showed that Somera had just left a cockfight arena in Barangay San Roque around 1 a.m., when he was shot by the lone gunman.

The former governor died on the spot while the gunman was able to escape.

Two more persons, who have yet to be identified, died in the shooting incident.

Investigations are ongoing to determine the motive behind the former official's killing. —ALG, GMA News
