Filipino Muslims celebrate Eid'l Fitr in Rizal Park
Filipino Muslims gathered at Rizal Park in Manila on Sunday to mark the end of Ramadan, a month-long holy fasting period, in a celebration called Eid'l Fitr or "Festival of Breaking of the Fast."
A large crowd started the three-day celebration with their families and friends, beginning at dawn to offer and recite prayers.
Muslims also gathered at the Quezon City Memorial Circle for the same celebration.
Muslims are required to groom and dress well and share their blessings by donating money to their mosque or giving alms to the poor.
Fasting is forbidden on the day of the celebration. Following the occasion, most Muslim families go on festivities with their families.
