R. Papa floods a struggle even for buses, trucks

Parts of Metro Manila turned into waterworld anew on Thursday after habagat rains enhanced by cyclone Gorio.

A report by Chino Gaston on "24 Oras" showed how boats were needed to cross Sto. Domingo street, where water had reached chest-level.

The highest among Caloocan's floods monitored by the CDRRMO's CCTV operation center was along R. Papa Street bordering Manila.

When smaller cars didn't take the chance, the CDRRMO caught footage of a half-submerged bus making its way across the water at around 11 a.m.

A gas station in front of the Manila City Hall did not bother suspending operations amid the floodwaters.

Rescue personnel remind the public to remain observant, listen to rescue advisories, and always put the safety of minors first in the event of being stranded. —JST, GMA News
