Pasay police chief: Condo stabbing a closed case
Pasay Police chief Senior Superintendent Dionisio Bartolome said Wednesday they now consider the deadly stabbing at the Central Park Tower Condominium a closed case with the death of the suspect.
“Ang pagkamatay ng suspek at pagka-identify ng independent witnesses sa kanya na siya ang nag-cause ng stabbing rampage na ito ang naging cue natin para masabi natin na case closed na ito,” Bartolome said in an interview on GMA News TV’s QRT.
But he said they are still waiting for the result of the toxicology report which will determine if the suspect took illegal substance.
“Hinihintay ‘yung toxicology report after ng autopsy para makita kung ano ang substances na na-intake before ng rampage. Once na makuha itong report including the background investigation we are doing on the suspect, we will be releasing the final report and considering this case closed also,” he said.
He said according that to the relatives, the victim and the suspect just arrived from Cagayan and were looking for work.
“Kaluluwas lang nila galing Baggao, Cagayan. Wala pa po silang isang linggo dito sa Maynila and they are looking for work,” he said.
He added that around 8 p.m. Tuesday, the suspect even called his legal wife and told her that he stabbed his girlfriend.
“Mga 8 ng gabi, pagkatapos niyang walang habas na manaksak ay tinawagan niya ang kanyang legal wife at sinabi na nasaksak niya ang kinakasama na si Emelyn,” he said.
Bartolome said the police will also be looking at the lapses of the security personnel of the condominium after they failed to prevent the suspect from bringing in a gun and knife inside the building.
“’Yun po ang naobserbahan ng (NCRPO) regional director natin na si Director Oscar Albayalde, kung bakit nakapasok ng patalim at baril ng suspek inspite of the presence of security personnel. Ito ay papaimbestigahan at malamang na ang SOSIA (Supervisory Office for Security and Investigation Agencies) ang mag-take charge ng investigation dito,” he said. — Amita Legaspi/RSJ/KVD, GMA News
