5 robbery-holdup group members arrested in Mandaluyong, Makati

Five members of a robbery-hold up group were arrested by police in separate operations in Mandaluyong and Makati, Southern Police District director Chief Superintendent Tomas Apolinario said Friday.

Apolinario said the group's leader Intoy Alao and three other members were arrested by Makati police while another member was arrested by Mandaluyong cops.

"The  Alao bus robbery-holdup group victimizing buses plying EDSA were neutralized by joint Makati & Mandaluyong police during series of raids in different areas in Makati,  Taguig, and Mandaluyong," he said.

He added the victims positively identified the arrested persons as those who held them up during the August 29, 30, and September 6 bus robberies along EDSA-Makati.

"Makati City Police Station still exerting effort to recover the items stolen during the heist and appropriate complaints are  being prepared against the arrested persons," he said. — Amita Legaspi/RSJ, GMA News
