The MPD said in its criminal complaint filed against 18 individuals believed to be involved in Castillo's death that the law student's fatal hazing was held at the Aegis Juris fraternity office near the corner of Laon Laan and Navarra streets, a few meters away from the UST campus.
Police said the hazing rites ocurred between 12 midnight and 8 a.m. of September 17.
John Paul Solano, one of the suspects in the student's death, brought Castillo to the Chinese General Hospital around 11:45 a.m.
Solano had initially told the police that he found Castillo's body in Balut, Tondo, but later admitted that he was summoned by his fellow frat members to help revive the victim.
Castillo's parents were informed of his death early morning of September 18.
The parents said they allowed Castillo to attend the welcoming rites of the Aegis Juris fraternity after being assured that it would not involve hazing.
Some witnesses claimed that they had heard the fratmen shouting and laughing while drinking alcohol at the fraternity office.
CCTV camera footage of Barangay 471 Zone 45 in Manila showed that a black Fortuner with conduction sticker 9864, a red Strada pick-up with plate number ZTV 539 and a black motorcycle with plate number LD 19153 were parked outside the office on the night of the hazing.
The video evidence also showed that Castillo's body being carried out of the office and brought into the red Strada, which was used to bring the student to the Chinese General Hospital.
The MPD had confirmed that Castillo died from injuries sustained after undergoing hazing rites.
A Senate probe on Castillo's death will be conducted at 6 p.m. today.
Castillo's body will be laid to rest on Wednesday at the Manila Memorial Park. —Anna Felicia Bajo/ALG, GMA News
